Whoever said "Life is hard! must have visited Borovia, especially for us non-humans.
Being born to Eigo the tiefling woodsman from Waterdeep and a woman in the Village of Krezk, who for some reason my dad won't tell me her name but told me she gave me to him to save my life.
My dad built us a camp in the woods to raise me .
The people in the villages weren't mean to us but not exactly welcoming either since dad was still "working" for Fang Face.
He made sure to give me as good a education as he could, bringing me whatever books he could find.
Thanks to one of the books dad gave me, I fell in love the idea of exploring and learning of long past cultures and this land is full of lost things.
Due to my father being gone doing work for "Fang Face" I'm left alone to my own devices which mean I mainly explore abandoned or forgotten locations and if I find anything that peaks my interests I take home to store in our cellar to research later.
At 20 while checking possible sites to explore and my father was off again on a trip to Castle Ravenloft, I traveled for along the Luna River several hours eventually losing track of time. Eventually moving southernly along the river with the Svalich Woods east of me, occasionally eyeing the woods, wondering what might be lurking beyond hiding in the shadows.
I come to a place where the river splits into 2 branches and spot a small island in the middle.
While contemplating the next leg, I noticed a glint of light reflect off a small piece of metal kicked up by my footsteps, a strange shaped copper coin(Baldur Gate). Obviously not a coin used in Barovia that I'm aware of.
Curious of what other objects I might find I decide to set up camp and make this my dig site.
After a couple days of careful digging and watching for the usual predators, I find 3 more of the strange coins, a small plain stone box no bigger then the palm of my hand.
Examining the box carefully, I find the seam and slightly open it not prepared to find black mists swirling on the inside only to move and reveal a small charm in the shape of the rising sun.
As I examine the charm more closely without touching it I start to feel a sensation that can only be discribed as mild shock, taking slow breaths hoping to shake off the feeling it only started to grow more and more intense.
Soon what can only be discribed as some dark fingers feelings of ice cold digging into my my very mind begin.
I tried to scream just hoping to get some relief from the alien touch but no success as my body refused to make a sound.
Soon a presence(Eldritch) pushes its way into my consciousness with a feeling threatening to overwhelm me with it sheer power and dread.
Out of nowhere the pressure eases and the clear, cold, alien sensation forms into a memory, one I stood no hope in ignoring.
I see myself as a baby looking into the face of a beautiful woman. Hair white like mine but a better smoother almost pearl like shade and dull green eye, lustrous long white hair and wearing a necklace around her neck that has the same charm I just found.
My eyes snap open unsure when I even closed them or when I started kneeling down at the hole I dug the box out of. The box was in my hand but now on the ground empty but the charm no longer on the chain was now in my right hand!
When did I grab it out of the box!?!?!
Entry 1!
I just got pulled into Fang Face's mist while checking out a possible excavation site. Don't know why he has such a hard on for the members of my family but luckily my trusty mule Margo got pulled with me to the town of Orasnou.
