Fourth Year Project

by Kraius

Obsessed as he is with the past and the legacy of Ioth, Kraius decided to turn his attentions to the recent fey incursions. After all, the Golden Sphere is supposed to keep non-students and non-faculty out, and yet over the last few years more and more fey have slipped into the Academy.

First, Kraius spent a protracted period in the library, going over sources and comparing measurements in the metageometric fields of the academy's planar integrity over the years and charting any noted changes (he found to his distaste that terribly poor records had been kept). Then, he built an apparatus of golden wire with an accompanying tuning fork and started taking measurements throughout the school, comparing the readings. He didn't get very far, but accepted Athalor's help in taking some surreptitious readings in places Kraius wouldn't normally be caught dead.

Finally, after collecting the data, Kraius did some late nights processing the numbers and arraying them geographically and temporally. His conclusion: There is no deliberate Fey incursion. The weak points are rotating along with the sphere itself and they intensify closer to the inside of the sphere. No external force is attempting to push in, something is disrupting the sphere's planar integrity and making it susceptible to curious or malevolent individual fey.
