After our first few days in Waterdeep, we set out in search of Floon. We visited a couple of locations, and eventually traced his path to an abandoned warehouse. We found some bird-ish creatures who seemed to be from my ancestral plane. Chase, the fetid feline he is, suggested we kill the poor fellows after discovering they did not wish us harm (other than SoftPaw, who startled them).
He succeeded, but not before they told us where Floon was taken. They said to follow the yellow signs in the sewers.
We later found a man on the second floor, who wasn't Floon. While the poor not-Floon was comforted by some of the group, the rest of us looted the place for some stolen goods. As we went to leave, though, the city guard busted in and all of us froze up, except Arya, who took a moment to mention that we were safe.
We re-grouped at Arya's house, where we rested for the night, before splitting up in the morning. I went with Arya since she was going to the mage's guild, while the others went to check out the bar. On the way to Arya's first stop, I spoke a bit with her about mortality, :HIDDEN FOOTNOTE 1: She commented how I was lucky I didn't have to watch those around me die as I aged, and I mentioned how I wish I had longer to live and grow. Arya went in to meet her contact when we arrived, while I circled overhead. He learned during his meeting with his contact that the Xanthar were getting stronger and becoming more of an issue.
We then went to the Mage's guild, Arya was able to get them to work on a spell book for her, and I got to learn some about the actual source of my own magic.
We saved Floon, but it appears that he doesn't know why he was captured either. There was an evil octopus-like man present. From interrogating the orc after the (admittedly short) fight, we learned that the bastards believed Volo had found a treasure.
