Spelunking and debunking.

by Alvyn Nackle

Incredible find today! I was spelunking into a natural fissure formation near the mountainous border, trying to imagine what life was like within the vast darkness, and the earth moved. I was terrified and as I stumbled to find shelter at the wall of the cavern I was in, I fell through the wall as I staggered against it for support. I know, any Gnome fooled by illusion isn’t doing a very good job at discerning the real from the pulled filament of weave used to fool the otherfolk, but in my defense it was dark and I wasn’t being particularly cautious when scurrying for my life. I will learn more about this cavern and why someone or something took the trouble to use illusory defenses down there.

Update, the earthquake seems to have caused some instability, but the fissure is still passable and not in danger of catastrophic collapse. I may have been addled by the earthquake though, I have found no trace of illusion in spite of detecting magic as my mentor taught me. I spent three days in the cavern searching for arcane points of interest and traces of what I previously thought was illusion magic, but to no avail. If the cavern held secrets or mystery it may have only been tied to the earthquake-a phenomenon I currently can not replicate.

Coordinates are based on distance from the main grove.
