Personal history

Tillingford was a prodigy: a genuine, self-taught mechanical genius. He grew his skill all he could at his home, then moved to Baldur's Gate to study and serve at the High House of Wonders. Growing tired of book learning and lab work, Tillingford took to the field. His specialty became lost technologies and ancient magic, and he often partnered with adventuring companies exploring such places. On one such trip, he found a sturdy pony whose owner had been killed by a vengeful spirit. The clever little horse was his companion until it was killed by orc marauders.

Settling back in Baldur's Gate following a particularly arduous investigation, Tillingford fell in love and married. Sadly. the upheavals of the Second Sundering took her life before their family could grow. Tillingford poured himself into his work to deal with his grief. For some unknown reason, a fey spirit took interest in him, and whisked him away to the Feywild for a couple of years. During that time, he came to terms with his loss and, returning home, is ready to head back into the field.
