Barbara Ruth is the head guard in Lukemire Village. She has a particular interest in protecting Callery Lukemire and acts as her personal bodyguard.

Poison Barb's Poison Barb: The name of her sword. It's a steel greatsword her mother got her for her 22nd birthday. To up the deadliness, Barbara coats the blade in poison, though only on necessary occasions.

Personal history

Barbara's father left when she was young, completely ruining her mother. Her heart ached seeing her mother in this much pain and vowed that no matter what happens, she would always be there for her. She wanted to be her mother's rock. But at the same time, her mother wanted to do the same for Barbara.

To distract from the pain, Barbara's mother got super into sword fighting, and from proximity, so did Barbara. They didn't have the wealth to attend Duke Klondike's Knight Academy and were forced to be self taught. The two of them bonded over sword fighting, often sparring with each other and trading off new techniques they came up with.

After many years of training, when Barbara was around 19, they both applied to become guards of Lukemire Village. They both effortlessly passed the entry exam, not only being the first to pass without attending some sort of knight academy, but also the first mother and daughter to pass together.

While serving as a guard Barbara took a keen interest in Callery Lukemire after her husband left, leaving Callery in shambles for many years. Barbara remembered how it felt and hated to see Callery go through the same painshe and her mother went through. So Barbara extended a hand to Callery and vowed to help, to heal, and to protect her.

Self taught swordswoman, and a damn good one.

Employment

Full time guard & Callery enjoyer in Lukemire Village.

Accomplishments & Achievements

She and her mother were the first self taught guards to pass Lukemire Village's entry exam and were the first mother and daughter to pass the exam together.
