The Pearl Gates & Pearl Garden
The Pearl Gates is a long trail that leads to the Reserve's highest peak: Mt. Cukeasaurus. Upon reaching the top one will pass under a large gate made of vines and flowers. Beyond the gate is a mountaintop garden that houses flowers, trees, fountains, and a large statue of Kiwano at its center. This is known as the Pearl Garden.
It serves a religious purpose in that it portrays the history of a mortal's life. As one ascends the mountain the gate's change in theme, starting with gates decorated to represent Moya, Goddess of Creation near the beginning of the trail. At the midway point of the trail these gates shift to represent Pitaya, God of Judgement, then as one approaches the top, Kiwano, God of Creation. The path follows a mortal's life from walking with Moya on the material plane, getting judged by Pitaya, and finally ascending and resting with Kiwano in Reveri.
Purpose / Function
The purpose of the garden was to illustrate and celebrate a mortal's path to the afterlife. The garden atop the mountain also serves as a meditation and resting site for those who want peace.
Architecture
The gates are made of wood and adorned with various materials and decorations that represent the different deities. The garden at the top is made with marble, the same material that The Mesocarp is thought to be made of.
