The Pep Sea

The Pep Sea is a large ocean south of The Continent of Frutuscore. It borders The Pearl Sea to its east and contains the luxurious Sparkling Isles further south. It is the second biggest ocean next to the Pearl Sea.

Geography

The Pep Sea is much darker in hue than its neighbors. This is because it is the deepest ocean bordering Frutuscore, estimating to be over 7000m deep.

The terrain of the ocean floor changes as one gets deeper. In the shallows, around islands and bays, the terrain is sandy and temperate. Most of the life in the Pep Sea lives in these shallow areas.

At about 1000m, the terrain becomes more baron. A stretch of desolate sand and rock the stretches deeper still, almost like and underwater desert.

At 4000m, the terrain begins to change for the worse. Sunlight is nonexistent at this point, turning the ocean into an inky abyss. The rocky terrain becomes more jagged and has been described as "a miniature mountain range." Many minerals and ores can be found here, giving it the name Glitter's Deep.

Anything beyond this point is unknown. The terrain keeps getting deeper, and deeper, and deeper still, falling into a never ending trench. Anyone who's tried to go beyond this point has never returned.

Ecosystem

0m - 1000m: Tropical fish and coral that thrive in warmer temperatures.

1000m - 4000m: More resilient creatures who have adapted to little or no sunlight.

4000m - ???m: Unknown.

Many gems and minerals, such as emeralds, pearls, and even diamonds, are found in Glitter's Deep.

History

Like all of the oceans, the Pep Sea was created by Kiwano, God of Creation. It was given its name by the Bev'ragge, inhabitants of the Sparkling Isles.

Nothing of interest has taken place here other than a few expeditions into the depths of Glitter's Deep, none of which were successful.
