The world of the Neptaverse is a ripple of nine planar frequencies, filled with thousands of planets all teeming with life. Sentient life has evolved, guided by a pantheon of energy collectives known as the Nexi. The Empire’s foundation lies in a church consortium that channels prayers to the Nexi through a creed of rigid control. A nepotistic elite cabal of old money merchant families and their conglomeration of Megacorp-guilds wield monopolistic economic power. Both add layers of complexity to the Empire’s government, the Capa-Senate.   Church, state, and industry align in a singular agenda of control, their authority anchored by a network of enormous astral gates known as Lastra Porta. These gates, mysterious conduits capable of cutting through the astral sea, are relics of an ancient technology. The origins are shrouded in legend yet they are vital to holding together the Empire’s distant planets and solar systems.   The Neptaverse is filled with heroic tales, diverse magics, and scars of ancient conflicts.
