Stag Riders

Stag Riders were utilized for a time as a mercenary force, as the clan that originated the art were not aligned to any one nation. Eventually, the art crept into most of dwarven society, and most male Dwarves who've experienced war have had some Stag Training under their belt. Stag Riding takes advantage of the Dwarves unique physiology and affinity for nature. Their proportions make it slightly awkward to ride horses for prolonged periods of time, but fit perfectly with the Stags, as they can utilize their antlers as natural reigns, allowing their longer arms to hang naturally. Being able to grip and control the stag with much great precision due to utilizing the antlers, one handed riding is much easier than on a horse. This allowed the Stag Riders to develop a one handed mounted martial art involving an extremely long blade. Combining the blade with the stags already deadly antlers makes Stag Riders a veritable force on the battlefield.   Stag Riders are able to charge into battles and clear whole swathes of soldiers and cavalry, as their art specifically aims for the legs, which are usually less protected among infantrymen. They are also able to take out cavalry, as the horses are not as armored as the soldiers. Stag Riders are utilized to break the line and allow the regiment to flood into the opposing armies lines.
