Description
Once used to forge the very cosmos, this hammer is now used to craft ground-breaking marvels and dangerous inventions in equal measure. Rare are the times when a mortal is allowed to wield it, but on those occasions they are destined to bring a work of incredible power into being.
The hammer shines gold and bronze, with celestial runes carved along its metal haft and the swirling patterns of flowing lava carved into the head. Flames and stardust fall in equal measure as the head swings through the air, while the blazing heat it summons forth melts steel, bronze, and platinum all the same.
History
Chains of Divinity
After Fidain's defeat during
The Archonomachy, legends say he was bound and imprisoned. Some even speak of
how he was bound; a set of chains so great and terrible that even a God could be held by their strength. If such myths are true, then Creation would have been the only tool capable of such a thing.
The Colossus
One of the
Wonders of The World, The Colossus is the oldest worldly thing known to have been born of mortal hands wielding this hammer. That it still stands after at least 700 years is testament to the skill and power of those who made it.
The Labyrinth
There are many mazes, lairs, and puzzling dungeons in the world. The definitive Labyrinth was made to imprison The First Minotaur after his defeat in the Age of Myth, and holds him there still. Plays and songs cannot decide who journeyed into the underworld to build it, but they all agree it was done using Creation.
Long centuries ago a tapestry was woven, one capable of hiding even entire cities from view by cloaking them in the shadows of The Dreaming. When The Veil fell into the wrong hands, it was used for dark and terrible deeds. Until by mortal hands a blade was forged capable of cutting apart illusions and piercing through our world into the one of dreams. The Veil was sundered, and its destroyer was gifted to Katas in thanks for granting mortals the tool to craft it.
The Palladium
The most recent documented use of Creation was by a great hero and explorer named Akradína The Swift, famous for spending several years within The Shifting Isles and emerging, somehow with ship and crew still intact. She sought out the hammer to craft a means of protection for her vessel's final journey. The Palladium was forged - a gleaming statue said to be capable of safeguarding whatever building, ship, or city it was located within, so long as prayers were offered to it daily.
Her work complete, Akradína sailed past the Tachni Isles into the endless blue, and was never seen again.
