Welcome one and all, to the 98th annual Festival of Change! This year we'll be enjoying a different style of events - instead of gladiators battling monsters and each other, the festival will be almost entirely based around the monsters themselves. Very kindly sponsored by The Immortals, every monster brought into Chyreum will be fitted with a collar that allows their masters to control them safely and utterly.
Each day will have various objectives to score points that will be revealed on the day, but the primary goal will be to defeat other team's monsters and the arena constructs provided by a powerful benefactor who has chosen to remain anonymous.
Day 1 - Day of the Sun
To honour
The Great Phoenix as we enter into Summer, we dedicate this day to her light.
Today we shall host many events, with all creatures being allowed for the beginning of our festival, though we ask you keep your most numerous creatures for Day 2, and mightiest ones for Day 4.
Day 2 - Day of Glorious Armies
Champion Zia, our Colosseum's divine sponsor, was famous for leading unstoppable armies during her time with the living. To honour her glory, today we shall host the hordes and swarms of beasts brought in to combat each other.
If you have many similar monsters, today is the event to use them!
Day 3 - Day of Ocean Depths
In memorium for the Spring we have just left behind, we will flood the Colosseum and return
Suróza's children to her through battle.
The rest of the events will be on land, so this day will run longer than others to ensure every sea creature brought in is given a chance to earn points!
Day 4 - Day of Titans
Ancient monstrosities created to fight eternal wars, the titans shall be honoured with a battle to shake the city. The largest and toughest monsters will be entered this day to crack the ground and deafen the spectators!
Day 5 - Day of True Change
Our city's greatest sponsor,
The Lord of Change will be honoured today with a monumental mix-up! Every team will release their monsters, and be granted the chance to recapture both their own and other teams creatures.
Day 6 - Day of Rest
Following the carnage of previous days, monsters and gladiators both will be granted a chance to relax for some time, while the crowds will be entertained by smaller fights, plays and poetry, music and song.
Day 7 - Day of Slaughter
As is customary during the penultimate day of our festival, we scream our defiance against
The Breaker by sacrificing his remaining children to the other gods.
Any monsters that have survived so far will be placed into deathmatches where the only way to earn points is by killing their opponents.
Day 8 - Night of Endings
Almighty
Aesk, our festival's eternal patron, has taken a greater role than in recent years, to make sure our final night is one to remember! The master of metamorphosis has been hard at work creating the most powerful monster this arena has ever seen.
Any leading teams with monsters that survived yesterday's events will be given the chance to secure their ultimate victory by killing this beast with their own. Every team will be expected to work together, though only the killing blow will be awarded points!
