Kaeqio

Kaeqio Ara, or cave people, are Musta from Ara'Groo.

History

Culturally they started out very different from the farming Mustio that lived in the area's around them. They lived in caves and were more hunter gathers than farmers, never staying in one place very long. They didn't have a spoken language, communicating with hand-signs and dancing instead. There were many tribes of them, each with a distinct style of dancing.   They often raided the Mustio villages when attempts to communicate failed. Due to their way of dressing and moving and lack of speech the Mustio thought they were other worldly beings, not realizing they were from the same species. The fact that they could use magic, usually in for form of bright lights, didn't help this misunderstanding. It was the Mustio that called them Kaegio.   When the Mustio decided to band together and start forming alliances, as well as creating slightly more advanced weaponry, they started pushing the Kaeqio more and more into what they considered the undesirable areas of Mustio. Eventually one of the Musti families, the Violli, to grow on what everyone assumed was badlands. It turned out though the velli was suited to the lands they were given and flourished. Velli was an extremely versatile plant and eventually become one of the main staples of Mustio. Under the wing of the Violli they began to make technological advancements it the new train system, bringing them down into the connected caves and creating the worlds first subway system.   The Kaeqio began being called Velliara instead, though some still use Kaeqio or Kaeqio Ara derogatorily, or to call some one brutish or uncivilized. The Kaeqio though have embraced this characterization.   When the Allirana family took over Mustio they outlawed dancing in an attempt to control the Violli backing Kaeqio, so secret dance clubs opened in the cave they used to live in. The Allirana no longer rule and dancing is no longer banned, but the tradition of secret dance clubs remains strong among the Kaeqio.

Culture

Hair

Each person had a distinct way of getting their hair styled, originally chosen for them by their parents, though some times they changed as they grew. While the adornments and colors added to the style changed a lot, the style itself usually stayed the same once it was chosen. This is as close as they had to names. Hair styles are still important to them today as well, though they are no longer have as much to do with naming since they get Mustio names, they are still deeply personal.

Dancing

Each tribe had its own traditional dances, these dances where how you could tell what tribe some one was from. The tribes have all since been given Mustio names and the dances have been named after them. The dances have spread to club culture in the area as the Kaeqio usually dominate such scenes.

The videos below are as close an approximation of each kind of dance as I could find, please disregard the music. Also some are a bit flashy, so if you're sensitive to that avoid Ricci and maybe Pandimiglio. I'm too am sensitive to that and am trying to find replacements. -Leng
