Ara'Groo has a pyramidal command structure headed by the Big boss, or boss of all bosses.
The Big boss is picked from the main family by the previous Big boss, usually the eldest son.
Under the Main Family are There are Sub families that help run parts of the country. Each Family has a shot at being the main one if the circumstances are right.
Each Family is run by a boss, directly under the boss are the Top man, or Underboss, and Adviser. These two always work together as partners.
Under the Top man are 12 Soldiers.
A prospective Soldier is carefully supervised and tested to assess his obedience, discretion, ability and ruthlessness. If something were to happen to the Underboss the next would be picked from this pool.
Like the Underboss, the Adviser is over a pool of 12 men called Specialists. These Specialists are always paired with a Soldier and are well educated individuals.
Further down than that are the Men. Sort of like an army or police force. The Men are divided into Suits: Field suits, Office suits, etc., and Vests.
On the bottom are the associates. People who work for the family but aren't considered part of it. Mostly people who've come to owe something and have a useful skill to pay of their debt with. Lower than nothing these people are only used as tools.

20-166fv Violli Rule

  • 20fv - Wine maker Gregici Violli, tired of having his vineyard raided by Mongooses, bands together with near by settlements to defend the crops of all
  • 37fv-The Violli manage to meet with many families and put together a system of communication and trade
  • 69fv-The land is split into three governing regions and the Violli put in charge to make the implementation of ideas quickly and easily. Those regions are run by the Violli, Ghoti, and Allirana families.
  • 108fv-Violli grant land rights and family voting power to the Donati
  • 115fv-Ghoti follow Violli example and grant Popoci family rights
  • 118fv-Ghoti grant Venga power as well
  • 125fv-The Ellnas Impress the Allirana and are granted family power
  • 136fv-The Violli 'tame' the mongoose raiders and the Velliara are born

166-170fv First blood War

Allirana over throw and wipe out the Violli. All smaller families are absorbed back into the larger ones for strength. The Donati side with the Violli and take over there abandoned territory. In the middle of the blood war a foreign family, Diederich, takes advantage of the confusion and makes a claim to eastern shore.

170fv-55ed Allirana Rule

  • 10-15ed-Second Blood War. Allirana and Diederich battle for lead, Allirana win.
  • 20ed-The Ghoti lose their power and now work under the Allirana
  • 47-55ed-Third Blood War Allirana and Diederich start it up again. Donati won due to knowing the war would come and being prepared long in advance.

55-183ed Donati Rule

  • 109ed-The Ghoti ask the Allirana for the return of family powers and are answered by being completely wiped out to the last man woman and child.
  • 123ed-The Velliara vie for Famliy Rights is granted by the Violli and Donati.
  • 143ed-For vengeance and to prevent another blood war a cold war with Krivusha is started by a very young Giovanni Donati
  • 183ed-Fourth Blood War Mike Donati goes insane and half of the Donati force is stricken with a strange affliction rendering them comatose. The Allirana attack.
