Mental characteristics
Personal history
Arthur lived in Edwistburg with his wife Sabia and his young son Burkk as one of The Mundbyrdians of Edwistburg until the Demise of Edwistburg, when King Sumphyr of Wahstrehite sent Wahstrehite Knights into Edwistburg to raid it as a warning sign from The Wahstrehite Kingdom.
During this time, Belinda was visiting her sister for a wedding. The women were in the house, so the men had to find something fun to do. Arthur decided to take Burkk to Hangra on a little hunting expedition. He regrets that choice to this day, for he never would have left his wife's or his sister's side if he'd known what would befall them that night.
When he and Burkk returned, the villages of Edwistburg were ablaze and all was in ruin. There was no trace of the family who stayed behind. This prompted him to start all over from the beginning and make a home in Hangra for himself and his son.
Employment
After the Demise of Edwistburg which discontinued The Mundbyrdians of Edwistburg, Arthur joined The Mundbyrdians of Hangra, as did other surviving Mundbyrdians who did not join The Mundbyrdians of Lytelcroft which was the nearest Ealdenstead.
Mental Trauma
The loss of his family brought much regret upon him. For years he pondered what could have happened if he had stayed in Edwistburg instead of heading to Hangra on the hunting expedition with Burkk-- if somehow he could have saved his wife, his sister, and possibly the entire settlement. But he soon concluded it was no use. He couldn't change the past. Besides, what could one man and a young teen boy do against a terrible army of Wahstrehite Knights? He surmised that he probably would have been injured or killed, and he couldn't bear to imagine what would have become of his precious son Burkk.
Though he has come to see the brighter side of things, Arthur has still not fully regained the playful and joyful demeanor he once possessed.
Intellectual Characteristics
Arthur was a very clever lad in his youth. He was very sure of himself and often talked back. He was moreover on the rude side than the gentleman side, but he was mostly full of jovial fun and games. After the Demise of Edwistburg, he began to second guess every decision. Nevertheless, he tried to retain a brave face for his son Burkk and masked his sorrow as much as possible. He tried to return back to his original carefree self, but everyone could tell that just a little something was missing from him. That did not stop Burkk from becoming more and more like the man his dad once was.
Morality & Philosophy
Arthur is very devout to The Shining Lord. He stumbled for a brief moment in his faith after the Demise of Edwistburg, but he quickly reconciled himself back to God after much prayer and review of scriptures from The Testament of The Shining Lord. He surmised that everything happens for a reason, and vowed to live his life uprightly and raise his son righteously so that they both would be able to meet Sabia and the rest of the lost on The Other Side at their appointed time.
