Daugir's Rest
Daugir’s Rest is a tiny village consisting of only a handful central buildings and a few farms in the surrounding area. The village is situated next to the river Tempest that runs from the Dragonspine Mountains down to the Moonsea. The village pays taxes to Lord Valhenry whose manor lies a few hours to the north and west of the village.
The village is spread out and consists of a couple of farms. Four buildings make up the bulk of the central village:
- The Horned Tavern - The village’s only drinking establishment and it is busy all day. The tavern is a stone building. Inside the common room is dominated by four long tables, a central hearth, a bar, two rentable rooms, a storage cellar and a top floor for the owner and his family. It is very basic but impeccably clean. The tavern is run by the tiefling Hiphesto, his wife Bessrah, and two daughters Shallish and Fiextra. The menu includes local ale but also wine from the Scarlet flowers of Strayhill.
- Blacksmith - The blacksmith Göette runs this business along with two young apprentices. They supply the region with tools and manages most repairs that the farms cannot handle themselves.
- Floretta's Store - A general store that stocks provisions, tools and materials mainly used by the surrounding farms. The owner, Floretta, runs bi-weekly supply runs to Strayhill for provisions.
- Temple of Chauntea - The temple is a white stone building with a wooden bell tower. The temple is maintained by Sister Mishka, a quiet young woman with dark features devoted to Chauntea, the Great Mother. Inside, next to the altar is a small tomb where Father Daugir is buried. There is also a small chamber dedicated to farming lore and similar practices.
History
The village was founded about a century ago when Father Daugir left his forest temple to come out and aid the surrounding farms with curbing the disease that was plaguing the region. In return for his help, the villagers turned his improvised aid station into a proper temple dedicated Chauntea.
