Settlements

  Daugir's Rest
Daugir's Rest is a tiny village of only a handful buildings but several farms in the surrounding area situated next to small stream that connects with the Tempest River. It takes about two days of walking on a dirt path along Tempest River to travel from Strayhill to Daugir’s Rest.   Drogan's Tower of Roadside Delights
A roadside inn housed in an old stone tower with accompanying patched stonewall. The inn is located about a day's travel from Strayhill and another day from Daugir's Rest. It is owned by the mysterious Lord Drogan, a very reclusive gnome.   Ogrewatch
A dwarven mining village at the foothills of the Silver Hills. It is heavily fortified to protect against the frequent ogre attacks.

Local Farms

The nearby farms are all devoted to cattle and dairy. Most of the land around the buildings are grazing land, fenced with meter high walls of stacked stone.   Greg Hammond’s farm
A well maintained and expansive farm. His property is an impressive two-floored wood cabin. In addition to cattle he also have horses on his farm for sale, and along with that saddles and other leather goods. Greg has seen and been at the temple of Daugir in Whispermist forest.   Mort's Farmstead
An isolated farm far away from the nearest village. Mort is actually a necromancer and uses undead as workers. In addition to undead workers, he also keeps a watchtower constantly manned by 3 skeletons. If they spot anyone closing in on the farm they are instructed to raise a large white flag from their tower, alerting Mort and the others of company.     Sissletha’s farm
The tiefling Sissletha employs tieflings from Strayhill as workers on her large farm. Ssissletha is quick to talk about how tieflings are mistreated in Strayhill and that there is an extremely high mortality rate among the tieflings in the Beggar’s end district.

Points of Interests

  Daugir's Temple
Deep in the Whispermist forest lies Daugir's Temple. Overgrown and abandoned. A long forgotten secret lurks beneath the stone structure. Plague-ridden goblins have been spotted prowling around the temple at night.   Tempest Overpass
An old stone bridge of dwarven construction over the Tempest River. The bridge is mainly used to reach Mort's Farm but sometimes travellers use it to reach Ogrewatch.

Features

Sea of Grass. The region mainly consists of very tall grass and gentle rolling hills. Most folk stay away from the grass at it is home not only to ogres but also a number of very dangerous predators.   Whispermist Wood. This forest is what gives the region its name. Trees here are a mix of maple, willow, oak and elm with gnarled spiny bushes growing on the ground. There are countless small dirt paths through the forest. They zig and zag to avoid the many wet areas that if forced will risk getting the unwary traveler stuck or at least a wet boot and leg. There is rustling, twigs snapping, weird sounds constantly around the party in the woods.   Silver Hills. The Silver Hills in the eastern part of the region is rife with silver ore but also home to several ogre clans and the occasional hill giant. Despite the dangers is a small dwarven mining village, Ogrewatch, on the Silverling's south bank.   Tempest River. The Tempest flows from the Dragonspine Mountains in the north down to the Moonlake in the south. It is used by several halfling river clans to freight ore from the mines down to the town of Strayhill.   The Silverling. A smaller river flowing down from the Silver hills and joins the Tempest. It is quite deep but a handful dwarven made bridges allow for crossing along the way. The two halfling clans - Ottercats and Waterfalcos - travel up and down between the town of Strayhill and Ogrewatch in the Silver Hills.
