Barnabas
Barnabas is an elderly human magician who Alfonso first encountered in the Grand Forest at the start of his adventure in the world of After the End. Blinded as a result of a mysterious event in his past, Barnabas is a specialist in nature and healing magic, more at ease in the middle of a quiet forest than anywhere else. Originally bringing Alfonso to the attention of Melikah and her renegade cult, he came to regret this and tried his best to help Alfonso escape their clutches. Once they were reunited, he made a solemn oath to care for Alfonso until the youngster found his father again, resulting in him being recruited along with the giant ant Gem when Alfonso was taken into the next universe by Nexus.
