The Age of Embers is defined by the lack of knowledge surrounding it. It's understood by the description of the only ones that were there, that there was once an endless space of energy, time and chaos as one amorphous nebula. The clouds began to combine until eventually there were concepts of consciousness within the nothing and everything.
  They began to act on their own volition and create around them a tangible world. A canvas for them to work upon, they poured themselves into it, losing what they once were for what is. The spirits began to take shape themselves, and eventually they could walk this earth with their creations. Each now embodies but a few aspects of their former self, having sacrificed power for reality.
