Gear Jugger

A Gear Jugger is a Jugger comprised mostly of gnashing gears and various rods and other simple mechanical parts in a constantly writhing assembly.   It is unknown how a Gear Jugger can sense its surroundings, but it can. It seems particularly adept at identifying living things and will go out of its way to destroy them, regardless of their size and any threat they might be to it. It does not register plantlife or fungus of any kind.   While it seems to be mindlessly aggressive, it acts with a clever intelligence when overcoming obstacles and challenges.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

A gear jugger has no vital locations as other juggers might. Instead, it is a collective of gears and rods and other bits and shapes. It arranges them on the fly as it needs them. When a gear jugger suffers damage, more times than not the damaged parts will be dislodged from the construct. In game terms, any time the construct is shaken, its form is disrupted and it must reorganize. It automatically removes shaken status at the start of its turn. Any time it suffers a wound, parts are dislodged. It is capable of re-assimilating dislodged parts within 2 meters as an action, and when it does this it automatically recovers the wound. it may only recover from one wound a turn in this manner. When it does, it remains shaken until its next turn.   Like many other Juggers, a Gear Jugger is capable of absorbing power points from targets in the same manner as the Drain power Points power, with the restriction that it must cause its target to bleed with an attack just like a Psi-Stalker does. (Juggers suffer no multi-action penalty to drain power points when they do this, however)

Manufacturing process

Gear Juggers seem to be the invention of a Diabolist or Technowizard, or maybe even a rogue Animator's puppet.   Each component of a gear jugger is etched with multiple runic symbols and these etchings seem to be filled with dried blood, lending credence to their origins as Diabolist creations rather than Animator puppets.

History

They were not seen until ten years ago, and only a few have been seen since. Each gear and component part of a Gear Jugger is etched with runes and arcane symbols.

Significance

What sets a gear jugger apart from others is that a gear jugger can change its shape to accomodate any obstacle or challenge. In fact, it can have its various components removed and will be able to incorporate them back into itself. Like other Juggers, it is capable of self repair as well.   A gear jugger's native form is of a large humanoid. At least, that seems to be what it is most likely to be seen as. Various other forms it can assume are that of a therapod, various four-legged beasts, tentacled creatures, and even serpents. Its entire body does not need to take the form of a single creature. It can modify any portion of its body to emulate any creature in its repertoire.

Raw materials & Components
Gear Juggers are powered by a collection of spirits/souls. Invariably there is a humanoid spirit incorporated for its higher level ability to take instruction and think through complex problems, but there are also a number of other beast spirits trapped within it. These give it its ability to take the form of those creatures but they are also the primary reason it is so distructively uncontrollable. It does not seem like any single spirit controls a Gear Jugger, but rather like it is constanlty at war with itself over which is in control. This internal conflict does not seem to hamper its combat capability, reflexes or response one bit.
