North America
Much has changed from the North America you know.
The great cataclysm resulted in tectonic destruction, from earthquakes to volcanos. The great Yellowstone Caldera eruption was among the largest single events. The ice caps melted and the the ocean level rose. Combined with the tectonic shifts and the erratic orbit of the moon, the floods redrew earth's continents. In the last 200 years, the re-glaciation of the poles and stabilization of the moon's orbit have revealed some geographic features completely unaffected and others utterly unrecognizablr.
Remnants of the societies of The United States, Canada and Mexico remain in oral tradition alone. Abandoned cities have been claimed by mother nature or aliens, and humans, while a plurality, are no longer the majority on the planet.
