Chapter 04: September the 2nd
General Summary
Bildrath's Bloodstained Letter:
His most vengeful Lordship,
My most adored and feared Count, I am a faithful servant. It is by your grace that I live, but unfortunately, it is by your grace that my dear nephew has been killed. I bid you to enforce your justice.
A most detestable gang of adventurers has found their way into your kingdom. Just this morrow, I met them - the ungrateful thieves - as they so belligerently entered my shop after leaving the Inn. They did not purchase much, only garbage, but still thought themselves so entitled so as to turn their noses up at my fair but firm pricings. I swear that they stole from me as I valiantly pressed them out of my home.
I saw them leave my store only to impose themselves onto Mary next door. These beasts committed terrible atrocities to her, acts that I dare not imagine as the wailings I heard from her were desperate and concerning! That poor soul has been violated indeed, but that still was not enough for these “Guardians,” for as quickly as they had had their way with poor Mary, they began to search for her own daughter - how fortunate that she had run away.
The gang then proceeded to turn to the services of Morgantha and her pastries. Gorging themselves on her meat and tossed their crumbs into our only well. These villains’ debauchery knows no bounds, my lord.
But worse still, they entered into the home of your own chosen lady, and murdered the Burgomaster, only to process his corpse for all to see down to the church - stumbling as they went and casting his lifeless body into the mud again and again. There in the church they continued their path of destruction, clearly molesting Father Donavich, prodding and burning him by the sounds of it - though he never stopped praying.
I had only just barely made it back to my own home in the dead of the night but for the gang to break in and commit the most heinous of crimes. I found and chased one of them, only for that same one to use their unholy magics take my boy, my nephew, and hurl him miles into the sky, only to let him drop and crash back into his own home - the same home that I took him into when he lost his parents to the wolves, the same home I made feel safe for him was where he experienced the most devastating danger.
These monsters must be dealt with, sire. I bid thee, nay, command thee to enforce justice onto these creatures. Avenge my Perriwimple, or grant me the power to do so myself. Your land will not see peace so long as you enable their antics.
Your grateful servant,
Bildrath Cantemir
