The Spires of Ulmar

The Spires of Ulmar are a small set of mountains located right in the center of Upper Zagesi, that serve as an important landmark for navigation to those that sail The Gilded Sea. In terms of natural resources, The Spires of Ulmar are well-known for their rich garnet and Jasper deposits.
How exactly they got their name no one really knows. Some say Ulmar was the name of the first seafarer that discovered these mountains, while others say that Ulmar was the capital civilization once located in and around them, and others again say that Ulmar is a legendary beast, taking the shape of a massive bear which calls these mountains its home.
