Hild
Hild is a hot, dry, savanna planet with a small population of humans that have regressed to a primitive society of nomadic hunter gatherers. There are significant water deposited underground that the local fona are adept at finding and burrowing to.
The most remarkable aspect of the natives is that they have formed closed bonds with some of the local fona. There are several species of large animals that have been domesticated and serve as both working animals and a religious totem. Most of the scattered human tribes see the bonding between a human and one of these long lived animals as a right of passage into adulthood. These bonds are generally for life although the death of an animal companion may mean adopting a new animal.
