Krass
It was the pioneer of spike drive rediscovery. They were the second system in the sector to rediscover and adapt spike drive technology, only proceeded by the AI Morin in the Foni system. Krass accomplished this by turning its entire population into a workforce dedicated to building a major orbital shipyard and rediscovering and adapting spike drive tech.
Krass itself is an urbanized planet drowning in pollution. It is also the home of a mutated and malfunctioning nanite-virus that spreads through blood. This virus reconstructs the body of its host in random ways. Most infected die of the shock, while the survivors are mutated in some way.
These nanite swarms are being purged in a decades long project.
Became part of the Fonian Mandate in 2999 after the rebellion agreed to join in exchange for military assistance. It has since struggled with restructuring its government and clearing the nanite-virus from its planet.
