Mrok Wood Elves

The Wandering Courts: Always on the move, travelling through the woods of the mortal plane and the feywild in time with the seasons. Despite their differences, the courts are allies and consider themselves to be individual parts of a greater collective; members of one court are free to travel with the others if they wish. No real leadership structure and simply follow their ancestral paths through the woods, weaving between planes as they go. Big decisions are put down to a majority vote of whoever happens to be listening at the time. As with Serine, Elders tend to be a bit more say because if they’ve been alive that long they’re probably worth listening to. Children are raised collectively.   Spring Court: The most chill of the courts. They welcome everyone into their number, believing that anyone finding their way to them was destined to be there. May possibly be some stupidly powerful magic at work but who fucking knows. All kinds of people and monsters can be found following the Spring Court; giants, owlbears and even a beholder have been seen travelling with them.   Summer Court: Generally friendly and tend not to shoot outsiders on sight. Chaotic by normal standards but considered to be lawful by the other wood elves. Tend to be brave, heroic types and to favour hand to hand combat more so than the other courts.   Autumn Court: More attuned to the magic of the forests than the other courts, they are the intellectuals and scholars of the Wood Elves. They favour spellcasting and actually teach their kids to read and write. Hide themselves with magic and attack outsiders who stray too close.   Winter Court: If you’re not supposed to be in the woods these guys will hunt you for sport - They pride themselves on being the best rangers and hunters in the known world. They act as the caretakers of the woods, culling the populations of beasts and monsters to maintain the balance.

Structure

The Stag is actually just an elaborate, magical costume crowed with an impressive Stag skull which wood elves bring out and put on when they have to deal with outsiders and need to appear official. Nobody in particular wears the costume, it is simply a case of whoever feels like doing it at the time.

Culture

Normal wood elves; territorial, observant

Trade & Transport

Trade with the outside world is done via cargo ships along the Elor; only vessels carved with the correct runes are able to safely navigate the river to Serine. (Primarily elven boats and the occasional gnome traders who are granted passage)
