Forest of Mrok

Green dragon

Geography

Massive forest of darkwood. Terrain becomes more steep and rocky towards the South. The River Elor flows underground from Lake Aima and the River Murrock, emerging in the West of the Forest of Mrok, leading to the south-western coast.
It has an ominous atmosphere. Visitors always feel watched. Many monsters make their lairs in forest caves.
The trees are about 80ft tall, give or take 20ft. Saplings are rare due to northern deforestation.

History

The Wood Elves used to occupy the entirety of the Forest of Mrok. Over time they have abandoned most of the Eastern side of the forest to monsters, whilst the northern side is threatened by human expansion. The town of Yenelor is used to negotiate between the Mrok Elves and the Sojusz dynasty.
Most Elven settlements within the forest are now found in the trees near the river Elor.
