Rillirum Continent
Description of the Rillirum Continent, the most centered continent in Abolar
Geography
The Rillirum continent is very constant in terms of altitude. Long, green plains, hot, dry deserts, and intense, lush jungles sprout of this continent.
To the north is where the coldest weather can be found in the continent with temperatures way over the ones registered in some parts of the world, like in the Vonrûn continent or even in the Verisol Continent. Here, large forests with thick flora sprawl, mostly near rivers or lakes, giving home to a large number of animals of all kinds. Warm, swamp regions can also be found with many poisonous gases and organisms.
In the center of the continent, the Leorm desert separates the north from the south, among other things. Its a long desert of yellow, white sand with a prominent mountain or hill to the west of the desert. Some oasis of pockets of water can be found but are scarce and life is rare in this parts. The temperatures are very high, the highest of the entire world of Abolar. It can be so high that a rare phenomenon is observed here where, under the right conditions, clusters of grains of sand gather to form jagged, rough pieces of glass.
To the south, the land is more vibrant and rich. Like in the north, thick forests and jungles populate this region of the continent. The weather, warm and moist, give an exotic ambiance to everywhere you go. Animals and plants, of vibrant colors and diverse shapes, live in the vast, abundant jungles were water is easily found. High elevations, like mountains or ridges, are uncommon here, although the large number of rivers had carved this kind of geographic features wherever they pass.
In the far south there's the Mond'wopa Archipelago where it defines the, somewhat tenuous, frontier between the Rillirum and the Verisol Continent.
Fauna & Flora
The continent is characterized by its extensive plains and tropical environments, especially in the south. This way, life here is diverse and lively, with animals and plants with vibrant color and aspects.
In the north things trend to be more casual, with the usual wolf and owlbear roaming in the forests present here. Like in the rest of the continent (except in the Leorm desert) water is abundant so life prosper in this region. Forests are the common sight here.
In the center, the forests give place to a torrid desert. Therefor, life here is sparce, but present nonetheless. Small insects, like scorpions and bettles hide beneath the hot sand. Snakes and vultures roam the outskirts of the desert in search of meal or mate. plants are, essentially, none here, where a cactus can be seen deeper in the desert or a small bush in the outskirts, though.
The landscape changes again once we go even more south. From sand pass to green land and lush jungles. Here, life becomes even more diverse and flashy. Big animals of strong, vivid colors, populate the jungles while others run the meadows in packs or herds. Birds of different colors, insects with unusual forms and mystical beasts of unknown lands roam the lush forests. This forests are filled with gargantuan trees with proportional branches. Bushes of wide leafs hide the jungle floor, where the roots of the enormous trees, bulky and strong, dig deep in the ground, leaving the terrain, irregular.
Like everywhere in Abolar, magic is well ingrained in all live. All kinds of magical plants and beasts can be found here, some even from other strange places.
