Conquisitor Amissa Scientia

Once a secret society of the university for academics that tend to stray a little bit outside of the expected to learn what they wish to know, now a secret sect since the university was disbanded.

Structure

The head of the society acts as the face and voice of the group but functionally holds no power. All decisions are made democratically with members that are present, if you cannot be there for any reason your vote is forfeit.

Culture

The group is co-operative and individual, encouraging people to focus on their own individual projects and interests while not being afraid of asking other members for aid or advice.

Public Agenda

They were seen as the archeological and historical society but hidden behind that is their unimpeded search for knowledge that has been lost or hidden be that by time, nature, societies shaming or layers of flesh.

Assets

They have lost their home base in the university since its collapse and now hold meetings in secret by nightfall wherever is safest at the time. Each member has sustained some of the equipment from the university but much of it has been lost, locked behind the guard of the Mage Hunters.   The group have external associates who help them with their activities as well valued graduated scholars who still participate and usually lead younger members on expeditions and experiments.

History

Started by a trio who were advised against their research methods by most who banded together to support and hide each others activities. An anatomist who wanted to see the body in action, a historian who wanted to get to forbidden artefacts and an enchanter who wanted to push the limits of their craft. Other students with such proclivities and even those without joined over the years and now the society remains about 20 members strong within the university student body at any given time, excluding external associates, which tends to push it nearer to 50, and alumni of the society who still participate in its activities. They have, unfortunately, lost a lot of their members, some to persecution, others (often the ones with less dedication to the darker aspects of their group and just there for the archeological expeditions) to cowardice and retirement under the current regime.   Over time the group started associating themselves with Sight in their pursuits and the group took on a reverence for the deity. Whilst not directly worshipping him, they respect and dedicate much of their work to him and most members tend to sway towards him religiously.   Nowadays, since the 'official' disbandment of the group, they have taken on a stronger association with the deity, praying for protection and support in their endeavours and seeing him as a beacon encouraging them to continue their work despite the dangers.

Disbandment

The society has had to go underground since the sacking of the University of Edjudence so for all intents and purposes it is disbanded in the public eye.
