Lord's Mage
Qualifications
A Lord's mage usually requires at least one degree from the universities of Sophre'al however exceptions may be made for individuals who have proven themselves in other ways.
Appointment
A Lord of Trauque will often choose their own mage's apprentices from a graduating class at Sophre'al's universities depending on what they require and usually under the advice of the previous Lord's Mage who would be responsible for training them for the role's specifics. A Lord's Mage may have multiple apprentices at once, some that they will have chosen themselves with the trust of their Lord but only one will succeed to the role. There are some exceptions of particularly gifted mages ascending to the role immediately without a mentor but these are uncommon and most often take place when the previous mage has died unexpectedly.
Benefits
Each Lord's mage is given their own living quarter's fit with appropriate places to enact their personal and work studies as well as sufficient funding for both.
Accoutrements & Equipment
Lord's mages tend to be given a signet ring from their Lord which proves their official station to others and allows them to approve certain official documents.
