The second chance at life and prosperity granted by Our Lady Minerva, The Lightbringer
Soon after the re-establishment and reconstruction of settlements had started, and even whilst the liberation of the realm yet continued, spearheaded by Minerva's champions, the acolytes of Minerva began their work. Spreading the word of The Lightbringer, her clerics established Libraries in her honor and a system through which they operated. The Libraries act both as a depository of knowledge and a place of worship, and the clergy that run them have managed to establish their position at the heart of the decision making processes of most settlements.
Although the House of Minerva had managed establish itself in the hearts and minds of the peoples, it could ill prepare itself for the challenger that rose up against its authority shortly thereafter. The first time anyone was made aware of The League of Mastery happened in the year 25 Anno Minerva, when several cities were simultaneously visited by strange characters who called themselves members of The Brotherhood, serving The League. Initially taking an adversarial, even hostile, position towards these Brothers and their League, the House did not care to have their ways and authority challenged, but after about a decade of skirmishes the two sides mysteriously and suddenly agreed to enter into an armistice. The League was allowed to conduct its business as it would, so long as it didn't meddle into the affairs of the House, and vice versa.
The peoples of Achareon, particularly humans, banded together to round up and/or execute all mages of the land, in fear of their supernatural powers. Many elves were on the firing line as well, having a natural affinity to magic, and many others provided shelter for their brethren. Eventually they had had enough and mounted a retaliation against the oppression in early 133 A.M., and the battles between the magical and non-magical communites raged on until 136 A.M., when the The Good King Thurmond II, Thurmond Hollowind finally got the two sides to settle their differences and figure out a solution. From this truce agreement came The Institute of the Magi.
The Great Schools of Magic came together and united into The Institute of the Magi, and ratified the piece of legislation known as The Code Of The Magi in order to ensure their safety as well as that of the realm
