Dragonkin

Dragonkin are the children of dragons themselves, most have a mixture of dragon and humanoid characteristics, but some just appear as miniature dragons. True Dragons are very rare and powerful, most rule over their domains and have hatcheries of hundreds of eggs, but Dragonkin, not True Dragons are hatched from these eggs, True Dragons are only born from the most powerful magic and new Dragons appear very rarely.
Dragonkin are scaled the same colour as their parent and the scale colour can tell you something of which magic the dragon used to ascend and what powers it may be capable of.
Most dragonkin have a strong will and innate magic like their parents, but only a very small number ever grow powerful enough to ascend and become True Dragons.
