Règis Belaroth was Duke of Ciello from 962 until his death in 979.
He is most famed for his love affair and latter marriage to Arcelia de Aldershall. The two met during a ball held to honour the arrival of a Khandari ambassador. They eloped without their parents' approval. Even so their marriage ensured a period of amicable relations with the Counts of Aldershall.
Régis is unusual among the dukes of Ciello for never having fought in war. During his time taxes were lowered and the peasantry prospered. The common people still call him the "good duke", while the nobles refer to him (behind closed doors) as "duke do-nothing".
He died in 979 of a sudden disease.
