Alnudar, The Spirit of Creation (Al - New - Dar)
Alnudar is an ancient treant long since created within the Feywild. It gave up its physical form centuries upon centuries ago so that it may better meld with creation and all of those who become part of it, watching from among the realm of spirits to ensure that life goes on.
Alnudar naturally has a strong connection with the other Gods and Goddess of The Domain of Light, with Jilvarif in particular consulting Alnudar a great many times despite being of higher power of the spirit. The connection between the two is very much that of a mentor [Alnudar] and their protegee [Jilvarif], and it is said that when Alnudar had come to his decision to abandon their physical bark, Jilvarif wept, sorrowful that he would not ever be able to embrace the spirit of creation any longer in his darkest moments. Alnudar replied famously with - "Though you may not be able to physically touch creation, you will always feel it within every part of you."
Followers of Alnudar are almost always of the druidic sort; most in The Kingdom of Teitanga pay fealty to Jilvarif more than anything of course, and while Alnudar is certainly relevant and commonly known, few civilized folk devote the bulk of their prayers to the spirit of creation. This isn't because he is thought of as lesser or anything, but as civilization grows, the spirit of creation is thought by most to be more of a force of nature rather than someone who needs direct prayer and fealty - Everyone is aware of creation, everyone is alive afterall. Few, however, truly celebrate life itself.
To that end, Alnudar's followers are certainly more naturalistic. While it is not impossible, most do not shun civilization, as civilization is a natural progression from creation itself. They do not believe Alnudar to be the sole creator of the world, but they do believe him to have taken a massive part in shaping it into the beautiful escapade that it is now, being a "right-hand-man" of sorts to the true world shaper who's name has long since been lost upon the winds.
Surprisingly, with the rise of Ysgard and Yggdrasil, some question if Alnudar has played a part in events pertaining to the island. As far as anyone has been able to gather, however, he does not even make himself particularly known on the isle. Druids have also been able to surmise that he played absolutely no part in the creation or proliferation of Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life. They appear to be separate, non-related entities as far as one can tell, and divinations into the matter have been left unanswered.
Divine Domains
Life, Nature, Survival - Alnudar is very content with watching and facilitating from the background, and while he adores all things about life and the things that come of it, he also naturally has a disposition towards the furtherment of life. He does not turn his nose up at technology nor does he abhor the use of the arcane, as they in their own way are part of life as well even if he has less dominion over whirling cogs and gears. As mentioned, Alnudar is typically praised by druids who prefer to celebrate creation itself, though it is not usual for rangers to pray to him during hunts or dangerous wilderness treks.
Alnudar Clerics (the ones that exist) are primarily Life, Peace, Light, or Nature domain.
Holy Books & Codes
While there are certainly books involving Alnudar in some way, the Spirit himself does not have any particular holy books or codes dedicated to him. Life is in all things, you do not require written word in order to appreciate that.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
Alnudar's symbol is that of an oak tree with a sun rising just over the horizon behind it. Simple, and meant to depict the light of dawn beginning to warm up the stout tree.
Tenets of Faith
- Adore life in all of its ways. The massive dragon is just as alive as the lowly squirrel.
- The circle of life is to be celebrated, and while some may be taken before their time, let old bones past their span rest.
- Nature and all things part of it should be protected. A lumberjack may cut down a tree to make home for his family, but a fire with no purpose is a grievous sin.
- There is a purpose in every single one of us, all of us facilitate life in some way, even if most lean towards unscrupulous means. Those are the tragedies, not the blights.
Holidays
There are no known holidays dedicated to Alnudar, but with the coming of the new year, Alnudar is frequently given a position of high praise amongst all the gods that are honored, as though he were the Vanguard of the gods in regards to the continuation of life.
