Session XXVIII: The Roaring Island Report

Rewards Granted

At the beginning of the session, Heigolor, Ukar, and Micnik were each rewarded 100 gold pieces from Anksto's—the Great Golden Dragon's—hoard. In addition to this, Anksto used magic from his hoard to fix the Golden Gem for Ukar, which allowed Pirmas Karalius—the gem's inhabitor—ito speak with the party, and for the Longsword to gain the ability to hold a steady flame and become more powerful over all. The party also learned part of the history of the Metallic Order, a now derelict group who was the antithesis of the Cult of Chroma.   While in Crafter's Laboratory, the party members gained a few magical materials, a vial of Adamantine, a vial of Mithril, two vials of Cold Iron (later used), and a vial of Lightning Brass. In addition to this, they gained two vials labeled "machine blood," two labeled "machine lubricant," and one labeled "Colossus Initiation Fluid". The party also gained more knowledge about the Catalyst Gems, and the current whereabouts of the remaining gems (Bronze on Whisperwood Island, and Silver on the Frozen Isles). They also learned that the Brass Gem was being held in the laboratory. In addition to these things, Micnik also collected a bottle of Lightning Juice.

Missions/Quests Completed

The party completed their mission to free and help Anksto—the Golden Dragon of Greenfell. They also reached their goal of repairing the Golden Gem.   They also were able to defeat the infected TRE-x(Technologically Responding Executor—Version X ), that was terrorizing the Steel Hunters on the Roaring Island. In addition to this, they were also able to heal Crafter, and gain information from him. They also managed to stop the Engineer from accessing the Colossus by defeating and killing him.

Character(s) interacted with

The three previously together party members met two new members, who would join the party. They met Oswald, a warforged butler-turned-Drakewarden, and Flo-Rida, a satyr Bard.   In addition to these two new party members, the party interacted with Pirmas Karalius, Delumine, and Clerdik Yormash, the inhabitors of the acquired Catalyst Gems.   Once on the Roaring Island, the party also met Hunter, a warforged hunter, who quickly showed himself to be a seriously sarcastic companion, who never seemed happy with the party's performance. This caused tension between himself and the party, and often caused him to butt heads with Heigolor. After a heated interaction in the destroyed hallway's of Crafter's Laboratory, they ultimately stopped fighting long enough for the party to reassure Hunter about himself and his life.   Within Crafter's Laboratory, the party met the laboratory's owner, Crafter. Oswald managed to mend Crafter and fix him, after the party found him badly torn up and battered. Crafter revealed a lot of information on the wherabouts of the remaining Catalyst Gems. In addition to this, he also revealed that he was the creator of the dinosaur-like robots roaming the Roaring Island, and that he knew the process to create warforged. Ultimately, Crafter promised to give the party the Brass Gem, if they were able to stop the Engineer in time.   Finally, the party interacted with The Engineer, as a final fight during the session. The Engineer found some way to infect the dinosaur-like machines on the island, and used the TRE-x to break into Crafter's Laboratory, and ultimately almost made his way into the Vault of the Colossus, before being defeated by the party. Ukar and Heigolor successfully worked in unison to defeat the TRE-x, while Micnik, Flo-Rida, and Oswald began weakening the Engineer's power armor (which he stole from Crafter). After the power armor had been weakened sufficiently, the party ultimately broke his armor, revealing the Engineer's true crippled nature. He had a metal arm, and both of his legs had braces. A brace snapped and the Engineer was unable to get himself off of the ground, at which point Ukar began to interrogate him about the whereabouts of his husband, Stël. While attempting to goad Ukar into killing him, the Engineer remarked that he had no recollection of a Stël, as he probably was not "...worth [his] time." This ultimately enraged Ukar, who promptly smashed the Engineer's skull with his warhammer, showing a new side of violence for the benevolent dragonborn paladin.
