Skorda Lake

Skorda Lake1 is the largest one in the Lakú Mountains of eastern Gráhúlysía, located in the western part of the mountains. It's the source of Úló, the longest river in Gráhúlysía and the only major river in Adynía besides Jenat that ends at the continent's northern coast.
Most of the inhabitants around the lake are Keþíans, the dominant tribe of the kingdom of Keþía which rules the Lakú Mountains, and its capital Lanra is located by the lake's northeastern shore.
Keþíans believe the sun goes to rest in Skorda Lake during the night, and during winters solstices the king of Keþía shoots a flaming arrow, ignited with a sacred fire kept in Lanra's main sanctuary, into the lake to imbue the sun with the flame's essence and thus make the days lengthen again. Traditionally, this ritual is the final task a new ruler needs to perform in order to be officially recognized by the tribes of Keþía, a custom which predates the kingdom's founder, Keþírus.
