Ashrane Peaks
Geography
Located to the west of Tusnya and Ostrua, and sharing a border with Ardor, the Ashrane Peaks stand as one of the tallest mountain ranges in the Eastern Ring. The mountains serve as a natural barrier between regions, discouraging travelers from crossing the treacherous peaks. Notable mountains include Giant's Rise, one of the tallest mountains in the range and home to worshipers of Alar, as well as Silver Peak, a mountain rich with silver veins and deposits.
Localized Phenomena
The mountains that border the Silent Desert are inundated with unnatural thunderstorms that rage relentlessly. At the base of the mountains, lightning strikes and heavy rain is common, while higher up it materializes in the form of blizzards and snowstorms.
Natural Resources
Buried deep below the mountain surface are deposits rich with precious metals, particularly silver to the north and mithral to the south. Cities and towns bordering the range have tapped into these metals through extensive mining especially the dwarves of the region. However, its natural wealth has yet to be tapped with much of the underground terrain still unexplored.
History
Maintaining residence within the mountain range are creatures of all kinds, including beasts of the wild, humanoids who avoid the monotony of society, and natural mountain dwellers such as giants and goliaths. In particular, several cloud giant clans have made their home in the mountains near Giant's Rise for which the peak was named.
