Starfall Bay

The vast bay of still, clear water that encompasses starfall bay gets its name from the countless fragments of rock littering the sandy bottom of the bay, some strange property of the continents magic making them glimmer and shine faintly in the absence of natural light, making the bay a breathtakingly beautiful vista at night as the starry sky seems to surround vessels traversing the placid surface.   The unnaturally calm and clear weather of the bay makes it a prime spot for habitation, and indeed the human kingdoms of the old world wasted no time in sponsoring official colonies in the area, the prosperous fortress-city of Starfall, sponsored by mighty Ailendamus, and the larger  New Hogoria, the somewhat unimaginatively named trade hub sponsored by the kingdom of Hogoria.   These two official colonies clash frequently, often violently, with the two freeports of Freebay and Woodsbury, independent city states settled by rugged pioneers, outlaws and refugees seeking an escape from the increasingly authoritarian rules of the kingdoms of the old world, seeking to eke out a new existence on this new strange continent and willing to fight to the death for their freedom and liberty.
