Capital City of Fe`m me` ke` Ice Heart

Ice Heart is the Capital City of the High-King/High-Queen of the Elves.   Fe'm me' ke', the City of Ice Heart, was a marvel of elven architecture. Nestled in the heart of a frozen valley, it was surrounded on all sides by towering snow-capped mountains, making it an impenetrable settlement by land. The only access to the city was by air or by the river that flowed through the valley. The city's walls were made of solid ice, enchanted by the most powerful elven sorcerers to be impenetrable even to the fiercest of attacks. The gates, crafted from the finest iron and adorned with intricate carvings of elven lore, could only be opened with the correct combination of spells and incantations.   Within the walls of the city, the streets were lined with buildings made from a combination of ice, stone, and wood, each one uniquely crafted to withstand the harsh and unforgiving climate of the valley. Elven craftsmen had spent decades perfecting the art of blending these materials, resulting in structures that were both beautiful and functional.   The heart of the city was dominated by a grand palace, a testament to the power and prestige of the High-King Hia Nefe and his council of advisers. The palace was made entirely of ice, sculpted and shaped by the most skilled artisans of the elven people. Its spires reached high into the sky, glittering in the sunlight like diamonds.   Despite the seemingly inhospitable environment, the city was a thriving hub of commerce and culture. The elven people had adapted to their surroundings, mastering the art of ice fishing, cultivating hardy crops, and crafting exquisite works of art and magic. The markets were bustling with vendors selling goods from all over the Western Stretches, and the taverns were filled with music and laughter late into the night.   Fe'm me' ke' was a testament to the ingenuity and resilience of the elven people, a shining example of what could be achieved when a community worked together towards a common goal.

History

Travels to Hubefut & Apihi

In the days of yore, when the lands were still young and the seas roamed by daring mariners, there lived a Prince named Hea. With a small band of faithful companions, he journeyed far and wide in search of new lands to settle and peoples to befriend. Their travels took them across vast oceans and treacherous skies, until they came upon an island unlike any they had ever seen. Its name was Apihi, and it was a place of ancient wonder and mystical beauty. Here, the Prince and his companions met the Fafaba, a noble race of elves who had lived on the island for countless generations.   Over the course of a year, Prince Hea and his companions learned much from the Fafaba, immersing themselves in their customs and traditions. As they listened to the tales of the elves and witnessed the magic of their land, they came to understand the struggles faced by the people of Apihi.   Moved by their plight, the Prince agreed to transport Hia Nefe, the leader of the Fafaba, and his people to the Western Stretches - a land still unclaimed by the kingdoms of men. With his faithful airships, the Prince and his companions surveyed the best areas for settlement, seeking a place where the Fafaba could thrive in peace and prosperity.   Thus, it was that Prince Hea and his companions journeyed across the vast expanse of the sky and brought the Fafaba to their new home in the Western Stretches. And though many challenges lay ahead, the Prince and his companions remained steadfast in their commitment to the welfare of their new friends. Settlement of the Fafba Amidst the bitter winds and snow-capped peaks of the mountains, Prince Hea Haab journeyed with his airships and a small retinue of men to the frigid south. It was there that he discovered a valley of ice, with a frozen lake at its center and a great island upon it. Recognizing the safety and strategic advantages of such a location, he recommended to Hia, the future High-King, that they settle there. The island, with its natural defenses and access to a river flowing north to the sea, proved an ideal location for the elves to establish their new home. Initially named Igeye Yugi, which meant Ice Heart in the Yabayan tongue, it would later be renamed Fèm mè kè̃ in the ĩlwa language of the First Age of Elves. This new name, too, spoke of the cold and enduring heart of the island, where the elven people would make their home for many ages to come.   To aid the elves in their settlement, Prince Hea generously shared his knowledge and technology, enabling them to thrive in the harsh and unforgiving environment of the frozen valley. And so, with the Prince's guidance and the elves' own determination, a new stronghold was born in the icy heart of the south.

The Approach to Fem me ke Ice Heart

As the Prince Hea Haab and his companions journeyed up the frozen river from the sea, they marveled at the towering mountains that rose up on either side. The sharp peaks were covered in a thick layer of moss, and the air was crisp and clean, filled with the scent of pine and snow. As they traveled further upstream, the river began to narrow, and the current grew stronger. The waters became icy cold, and ice floes began to appear along the edges of the riverbank.   Despite the chill, the Prince and his companions pressed on, driven by their determination to find a new home for the Fafaba. And so they traveled deeper into the heart of the mountains, until they reached a point where the river split in two.   To the east, the mountains rose up even higher, their snow-covered peaks glistening in the sunlight. To the west, the mountains were slightly lower, but just as rugged and imposing.   The Prince and his companions chose to follow the western branch of the river, where they came upon a narrow channel that led to a hidden valley. The valley was surrounded on all sides by towering mountains, their peaks wreathed in mist and snow.   At the center of the valley lay a great lake, its waters frozen solid. And on the lake stood a great island, covered in a thick layer of snow and ice. It was here, in this frozen heart of the mountains, that the Prince and his companions knew they had found the perfect place for the Fafaba to make their new home.   Over the years that followed, the Fafaba would work hard to transform this icy wilderness into a thriving settlement. They would clear the snow and ice from the land, build sturdy homes and halls, and cultivate fields of grain and vegetables. And with the help of the Prince and his companions, they would learn to survive and thrive in this harsh and unforgiving environment, building a new life in the frozen heart of the south.
