Das Grama
King Das Grama (a.k.a. Dragon Tamer, Dragon Breeder, The Rich)
King/Duke Das Grama, a descendant of lesser Dwarven Nobility founded the Town of Liv Grama in 78556 FA (The Founding of Liv Grama by Nobleman Das Grama). He would complete the Construction of the Walls of Liv Grama in 78567 FA; in 78574 FA Grama would discover that the hills in which surrounded the Liv Grama were rich with precious gems and gold, making him one of the wealthiest Dwarves in Dwarvendom.
Early Life
Lord Das Grama was born in the bustling Dwarven stronghold of Kekta Bandu, nestled deep within the mountains. As the son of a minor noble, he was afforded the privileges and expectations of his station, but also the responsibility to serve his people. Growing up, Lord Das Grama was curious and adventurous, often sneaking away from his tutors to explore the winding tunnels and hidden chambers of Kekta Bandu. He was fascinated by the intricate craftsmanship of the Dwarven architecture and the intricate machinery that powered the stronghold's forges. As he grew older, Lord Das Grama began to take on more responsibilities in his family's holdings. He oversaw the production of metal goods and weapons, and even led expeditions to nearby mines in search of new veins of ore. Despite his success, Lord Das Grama felt restless. He longed for adventure and the chance to prove himself as a warrior. When rumors of a band of raiders began to circulate, he saw his chance. He gathered a small group of volunteers and set out to track down the raiders. After weeks of pursuit, Lord Das Grama and his band finally caught up with the raiders. The ensuing battle was fierce, but the Dwarves emerged victorious. Lord Das Grama personally slew the leader of the raiders, earning the respect and admiration of his fellow Dwarves. From that day forward, Lord Das Grama was known as a brave warrior and a champion of his people. He continued to lead expeditions and defend his homeland, earning the trust and loyalty of his subjects. And although he never forgot his thirst for adventure, he knew that his first duty was always to the people of Kekta Bandu. In 78600 FA he is granted the Noble Title of 'Duke' by the High-King of Kekta Bandu, elevating him to the nobility and enabling him to undertake further actions to develop his settlement of Liv Grama. A year later he sees the population of Liv Grama surpass 30,000, elevating the its' status from a town to a city. 15 years later Duke Grama would successfully tame a dragon during an expedition to the East; by virtue of Dwarven tradition, Duke Grama proclaims himself King of the City-Kingdom of Liv Grama, elevating him into the elite of Dwarven nobility. In 78631 FA, he oversees the construction of a Great Keep that allows him to establish a royal court, and house his dragon/s; it would be another 5 years before he completes the Public Garden of Liv Grama, allowing his subjects to enjoy the beauty of nature without the danger of being killed by wild animals. In 78671 FA, he would be the first Dwarven King to establish a welfare system for the sole purpose of ensuring that poverty would not occur in Liv Grama. In 78698 FA, he is mortally injured in battle, sustaining severe injuries that included the loss of his left-eye, left-leg, and right-arm. He survives through the skill of healers, but is unable to undertake most of his duties as King from that moment onwards. From 78671 FA to 78772 FA, his son and heir, Prince-Consort Faf Grama runs the City-Kingdom and defends it in times of conflict. In 78772 FA, the Great Fire threatens the safety of Liv Grama; mounting his dragon for the last time, the old King is able to save the City by using his dragon to create a fire-break around the City, sparing it from the flames. In 78773 FA, due to the toll the Great Fire took on him, the old King passed away peacefully after reigning for 157 years.Relationships
