Personal history
Years passed and Zeph abandoned his crew of traders and started a crew of his own, capturing a ship he named the Kūpaua or "Resilience" and soon Zeph and his crew became notorious smugglers and sometimes pirates in the western Napola Sea. Zeph did not entirely abandon his trading as he regularly made long voyages with fine, stolen cargo to eastern ports as far as Mykra. On one particular voyage, he stopped to dock in a port town in Lakia and came across a huntress named Leuctra whom Zeph took an interest in. To make a long story short, Zeph and his crew stayed in Lakia for a year or more as Zeph and Leuctra briefly had a romantic relationship that ended abruptly when Zeph told her of his pirating ways. Since then, Zeph has not been back to Lakia until one fateful cargo run that saw him returning supplies and food to the same port town where he had met Leuctra those years ago. When he arrived at the port he found his beloved huntress waiting for him but another face was aside from her, a new face a boy from Rasca named Marius and one that signaled to Zeph the importance of his delivery as the boy had the face of a scared and lost kid much like Zeph himself had been and deep down still is.

History
To say that Zeph and Leuctra have a complicated history is simplifying a story that has many currents and undertones. Zeph came to town and quickly became enamored with Leuctra and courted her nonstop during his stay while Leuctra seemingly cared not to notice the love struck Pellephoni following her around and trying to read her his poetry. Eventually, somehow, Leuctra engaged in Zeph's game and for a brief time the two seemed in love. For over a year, Zeph and Leuctra were in each others company and seemed happy together until Zephyr's past as a pirate came to light and Leuctra broke it off and fired a few arrows at a fleeing Zeph. Since then they have not seen one another and for both parties it seemed like that would be the last image each had of the other. This was until Leuctra swallowed her pride and arranged for a shipment of food and medicine to be delivered by Zeph to her town and for her acquisition of Zeph's services to sail with her and Marius aboard to complete the boy's task of returning an old relic to a forgotten temple in the far north.

History
Zeph and Marius have a strange level of understanding with one another, upon meeting it became clear the two were going to grow nearly inseparable as the two have what the other wants most. Marius is given a friend who can give him all the excitement and adventures the world has to offer in contrast to his boring life back in Rasca. Zeph has an accomplice who understands and wishes to emulate him but Zeph is given a chance to tutor and teach in a way he never got to with his sister.
