Amber

Amber is fossilized tree resin that has been appreciated for its colour and natural beauty throughout Aesalian history. Much valued from the Mythic Age to the present as a gemstone, amber is made into a variety of decorative objects, jewellery and has been used as a healing agent in folk medicine. 
The most notable property of amber however is its ability to act as an impenetrable barrier, or prison, for extra-planar creatures. Most notably is its usage in trapping Vestiges denying them any means with which to contact prospective champions excpt through direct contact with the amber.
