Archdevil of Volcadris, many forget Levistus due to his icy tomb yet it would be easy to fall for the ploy of the Frozen Prince. Levistus' level is that of wrath and has been consumed by a bloody and brutal civil war for governance by warlords whose number come from opportunistic devils seeking to change their fortunes.
Levistus' status is much disputed. Common belief claims that Asmodeus froze him in place as punishment for his ambition. That the warlord who proved themselves worthy of his land would be granted the right to thaw the archdevil and claim his mantle for themselves or die trying. Yet those of the Cult of Levistus tell a different story. They claim that Asmodeus tasked Levistus with finding the greatest warriors in Infernus whilst creating a means to lure those seeking bloodlust and wrath. Aware that his presence would intimidate others into order he froze himself to create an environment of organised chaos wherein devils would be free to fight and kill one another. They claim that those who commune with the Lord of Death find that while his body may be frozen his mind is very much alive and acts at every moment to ensure the carnage continues.
Warlocks who make pacts with Levistus are often granted great power to commit deadly and dangerous acts of wrath. Less likely to punish his warlocks that other agents of Volcadris Levistus understands the value of pacts and always seeks new souls to fuel the furnace of war that consumes his level of the nine hells.
