Reis

Reis was an honorific title granted to lesser and unlanded nobility in Teremia. Reis could be appointed by anyone of county title and above and were granted the protection and respect due to the ruling family of the territory they were a Reis too. The title was not hereditary but many lesser nobles considered the title of Reis to be a precursor to a granting of land or position.
