Teremia

Geography

Teremia is a land of fertile fields with several long rivers and hills that separate its various lands into the numerous territories that assert autonomy. Green grass and forests of oaks and yews tend to fill the land with small villages that tend to the farmers needs. The largest river is the River Ivlis but the Rivers Luna and Cethriel mark the rough border with its northern neighbour of Morilliseum.

Ecosystem

Teremia has a range of creatures that assort its land from livestock species such as cattle, sheep and pigs but also predatory species such as wolves, foxes, bears and foxes. More vicious creatures can also be found such as griffins though the Order of the Horn tend to operate and keep such creatures in check. Mercenaries also work freely in the land managing the populations of invasive species for the coin of the landowners.

Localized Phenomena

Teremia is home to the county of Barovia which was sealed behind a mysterious mist during the First Age. None could pass the mists without permission of the lands ruler Strahd von Zarovich but many adventurers tried their luck to never leave again.

History

Teremian history is marked by warlords whose rise to power would often be as great as the collapse of their land upon their death. Warlords domains would be split amongst their successors who would then seek to ascend greater than their predecessors creating endlessly shifting of borders and lands until around the late seventeen hundreds of the first age when warlords began to create castles to protect their lands rather than seek to conquer others.   Nobles of the land track their lines back to the warlords they descended from and regularly claim one another's territory and seek to recreate demesne's of their ancestors to varied success. Unfortunately the legacy of their ancestors also remains in the often short lasting reigns of these wider states as larger lands often face the emergence of claimants and mercenary armies or threats from the already existing hegemons to cease their expansion. This has led to further warfare and tension across the land.
