Runes

Runes, or gylphs, are a form of magic in which magic is inscribed onto a surface to be activated upon a trigger. Runes take many forms including spell scrolls, traps and everyday functional practices such as a heat metal rune to aid a forge or a prestidigitation rune to keep a palace clean.
