Typhis / Brother Storm
Brother Storm, or Typhis as those far from the sea call him, is an ancient being who many sailors have claimed to see while traversing the Drowned Sea. Those who have praised him prior to their travels are said to have safe passage while those that have not find their journey beset by natural disasters. Worship of Brother Storm is thus common in sailor communities though few consider him to be innately evil. Those who commune with Brother Storm are given power over nature’s wrath and able to call on the extremes of the weather such as light night, wind and ice to smite their foes.
Brother Storm appears as a huge tornado with lightning eyes and two arms made of tornadoes with sharp claws of wind for fingers. His size often stretches from the sea to the sky and terrifies many who gaze on him. Brother Storm is unique in existing almost entirely in the Realm of Balance though can disappear in an enormous crash of lightning or by dissolving into the sea as a gigantic maelstrom. Worship of Brother Storm has existed since man has travelled the sea and even dragons were known to fear him and would make praise to him before they crossed the Drowned Sea.

Funeral Rights
Born of storm and sweat those who worship Typhis are buried at sea or in another large body of water for those who live far away. Mummified in seaweed, and in the case of Typhis' greatest champions a sarcophagus of stone, they are cast into the sea. Their bodies act as a final offering to Typhis in hopes of earning access to the Stormlands. Rainfall or storms during a funeral is considered a divine sign of approval and often heralds days of celebration afterwards in honour of their life.
Holidays
Feast Day of Typh
Celebrated on the 15th of Typh the feast day is celebrated in most coastal villages and held in particular reverence among those of sailors and pirates who offer regular tribute to the god of storms before any departure upon the sea. Common celebrations include:
- Children will spin around as fast as possible to make 'hurricanes' and must be given offerings of sweets or gifts before they fall over
- Offerings are sent out into the water on small boats
- If a storm or heavy wind occurs it is good luck and offerings can be left outside to be swept away
