Wyvern

Wyvern are large reptilian creatures, loosely related to Dragons but far more primal in manner and mind. Wyverns possess tall wings connected to their front legs and a poisonous stinging tail. They possessed long sharp teeth and claws which could tear apart their flesh of their prey. 
Unlike their distant draconic cousins Wyverns possess a beastial intelligence incapable of communicating beyond growls and roars. Skilled tamers however know that Wyvern are easiest commanded in Draconic suggesting some primitive ability to understand it or perhaps merely accepted its more visceral tones more easily.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Wyverns are omnivorous and nearly completely immune to poison. They do however rarely consume food types other than meat choosing to do so only when denied other options or trained by their master. Wyverns prefer uncooked meats but can eat cooked food if presented.

Behaviour

Wyvern are largely territorial creatures sticking to a single area until it can no longer sustain their hunger then moving on. They prefer weaker foes targeting vulnerable prey or poisoning a strong foe with their tail then retreating until it has taken hold of them. They are however a docile creature if they believe you to be a threat or if you provide a gift to them particularly one of a filling meal.
