House Highrun
House Highrun was, for most of its time, a small house set on running Ashfall for house Ashwell as they played at politics. Unimpressive and unmotivated, the history of house Highrun is that mediocrity. Rarely did they participate in conflicts, and when they did it was purely defensive - defending the land given to them by House Ashwell and that's it.
In recent years, that's changed. Berta Highrun has made it known that she wants Highrun to be seen as a great house, worthy of its place in history. Her fathers lack of involvement in the Winter and Autumn War was something she never liked, and in recent years she's pushed Highrun to have a bigger presence in tournaments and at court. During the Fullrider Coup, House Highrun defied expectations and rode out from Ashwell, leaving the minor house Wheatscar to hold the Greysoot Fields. Highrun would siege Orelin and even make it through the walls and into the western half of the bridge city. With reinforcements from Sunbrace, they would take Orelin.
Berta Highruns success in the siege would impress Mira Ashwell, who would let Highrun take control of the lands of Fullrider - so long as they dedicated themselves to Ashwell once again.
