Appearance
The scars that cover Berter's face are horrible and you wince at the pain that must have accompanied them. Most of his face is a puckered landscape of burn marks and angry red marks. Whatever hair he must have once possessed is now mostly gone. Where his eyes once were, two pieces of aether decorated with remarkable filigree of gold now sit in his eye sockets. Despite his horrible and fearsome appearance, a certain calmness and kindness radiate outward from this man. His posture is humble and relaxed, his disfigured face often lighting up in genuine smiles.History
Berter was the only son that alexander ever truly loved. When he found out that Berter had fallen in love with an apprentice druid he burned the girl on a stake. Berter, in an attempt to save the girl, burned himself and almost died in the attempt. His father then cast him out for interfering with his holy work. Cast out and abandoned by everyone he once knew he wandered the world as a beggar. As his other senses developed to compensate for his lost eyesight, he quickly found out that he hadn't lost his ability to create things. He sold charms and other minor holy symbols to travelers, being able to copy nearly every pendant simply by holding it. This caught the eye of a wandering priest of the cult of creation, who apprenticed him.During these travels he met Anlyn soll for whom he made several pieces of jewelry. The friendship between Anlyn and Beter fueled the animosity between Anlyn and Alexander Gutvin and drove it to feverish heights. Under the protection of his Patron Berter managed to work his way up in the cult of creation and become a member of the council of the silver gear.
